Medical Education
Lazarus Momentum sponsored Tamale Ibrahim, MD, through medical school — covering tuition and living expenses with support from Pat Joffrion, RN, and friends. Dr. Ibrahim has agreed to work in a Lazarus Momentum clinic or outreach for two years after residency before returning to Nakasongola, Uganda, his hometown, to start a medical clinic.
Ongoing funding supports medical supplies, equipment, and medicine at the clinics where our sponsored students serve.
Vocational Education
In 2022 Lazarus Momentum purchased two sewing machines and hired a sewing tutor to teach vocational skills in rural Uganda. The program also helps rural Ugandan residents attend vocational schools — a real barrier in Uganda, where there are no government-backed student loans and students depend on family, friends, or others for tuition.
